Here is an update from BMV.
While everyone in Victoria is currently in Stage 4 lockdown and the music industry is facing further delays to start again, we at BMV are offering some positivity amongst the gloom.
Last year we created history and staged the inaugural Blues Music Victoria Hall Of Fame in Melbourne where we inducted Dutch Tilders, and Chris Wilson as our people’s choice Legend.
We have decided to do it again this year, even though we cannot hold a public awards ceremony. We feel it is important that we still honour and celebrate the incredible achievements of our musicians. We will let you know more next month about the nominees and how you as a member of BMV can vote for the next Victorian Blues Legend.
We also have some more positive news.
Our BMV Ambassadors Kelly Auty and Lloyd Spiegel are a very special part of BMV and we have decided to add another to join them.

BMV is all about growing and promoting our industry and looking towards the future, so we have decided to appoint our first BMV Youth Ambassador.
Nineteen year old Charlie Bedford has taken his brand of Blues to the world representing the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in the youth division an incredible 3 times, and continues to promote Victorian blues at every opportunity.
He recently won an international distribution deal which sees his latest album Good to Go gathering great reviews and being showcased around the world via Blind Raccoon and Blue Heart Records.
Charlie represents the future of the blues and we are excited to have Charlie join us at BMV.
We will have more news next month so until then please stay safe and keep well.
Your BMV blues team.
