Eddy Boyle appointed BMV Disability Ambassador

Eddy Boyle - Disability Ambassador

Blues Music Victoria Inc is delighted to announce the appointment of Eddy Boyle as its new Disability Ambassador. Eddy Boyle, a talented musician and passionate advocate for disability rights, brings invaluable insights and experiences to this role.

As the Disability Ambassador for Blues Music Victoria, Eddy Boyle will play a pivotal role in promoting inclusivity and accessibility within the blues music community. Through his personal journey as a musician with a disability, Boyle will advocate for equal opportunities and raise awareness of the challenges faced by artists with disabilities in the industry.

Says Eddy; “I am a harmonica player, singer and songwriter. Some of you may know me by my stage name Fast Eddy not to be confused with the great funny comedian Steady Eddy who also has cerebral palsy like myself. I also have a vision impairment and a mild intellectual disability.” Eddy has never been without a harmonica since the age of four and was mentored for many years by the late great Chris Wilson. He has played with Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows, Andy Baylor, Red Rivers, Marco Goldsmith, Lloyd Spiegel, Jimi Hocking, Sweet Felicia and of course his friend the fabulous Chris Wilson, to name a few.

Blues Music Victoria recognises the importance of creating an inclusive space where artists of all abilities can thrive and contribute to the blues genre. With Eddy Boyle’s appointment, the organisation aims to break down barriers, challenge stigmas, and inspire positive change within the music community.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Eddy Boyle stated, “I am truly honoured to be appointed as the Disability Ambassador for Blues Music Victoria. This is a remarkable opportunity to advocate for the rights and talents of musicians with disabilities. I am committed to working closely with Blues Music Victoria to promote accessibility and foster a more inclusive and diverse blues music scene.”

Blues Music Victoria welcomes Eddy Boyle to their team. His unique perspective and dedication to disability advocacy will work towards enhancing the wonderful inclusive and accessible blues music community throughout Victoria.
