Hume Blues Club is a not-for-profit blues club, formed in late 2014 to fulfill the need for a Melbourne blues club in the Northern suburbs of Victoria, due to lack of blues venues on this side of Melbourne. Now, local blues enthusiasts and blues musicians can enjoy listening to or playing live blues without travelling far across town.
With the assistance and generous help of MBAS @ Coburg Football Club, we were able to bring our vision alive. We have set up The Shake Shack at 19 Harding Street, Coburg (the home of Coburg Moreland Bowls Club Inc.) for our Thursday evening blues jams. A Hangout For Blues Music Lovers
Our aim is to provide an inviting vibe similar to Blues Clubs in Memphis, a blues hangout where you can enjoy listening to or playing authentic blues music such as Blues Roots, Chicago Blues and Texas Blues. A place to boogie (either on the floor or in your seats). A place to get together, converse, enjoy the company of and network with like-minded blues music enthusiasts.
Our jam nights format begins with a DJ to start the night off, we kick off with a set with jammers then followed by our feature act,finishing the night with our jamming. We meet and jam every thursday night , every one is welcome for a fun and chilled out night.
Invitation to Blues Musicians
Any blues musicians wishing to play at one of our jams are always welcome, bring your friends as well. It is our intention that this format ensures as many musicians as possible get good representation on stage, with a good mix/match of both experienced and novice musicians, which wil give confidence to the novices and also provide quality music the whole night through.
